The Class Response Map provides a way of mapping each student listed in the Class Roster to a permanent location in the Session Response Grid. The Response Grid is deployed during a PRS Session. During a Session in which the Response Grid Display Mode has been selected, the Response Grid is displayed below the Question and Response Choices. (In a PRS PowerPoint Lesson Session, the Response Grid can be sized and moved to any location over the PRS Question Slide.) When a respondent has an assigned position on the Response Grid, he has only one place to look to verify that his Response has been transmitted, received and recorded. When there is no Response Map, Responses are posted on the Response Grid in the order received. An individual’s Response will rarely show up in the same place on the Response Grid from one Question to the next. Large groups of students will find it harder to track and verify their Response transmission when a Response Map is not in place. Response Maps are especially important when you are running a Session in Self-Paced Mode.
A Response Map can be imported or created by clicking on the respective Function Buttons at the bottom of the Response Map window.
An imported Response Map is an existing Response Map that can be imported into and used in the current Class definition.
A created Response Map can be derived either by using the Class Roster to populate the Map, or by having students register for the Response Map by pressing a key on their PRS Transmitters when requested to do so. A Response Map can be updated when respondents not currently included in the Response Map attend a Session. Their responses will show up at the end of the Response Grid, assuming there are additional, empty Response Boxes in the defined grid. If your audience size is likely to fluctuate from one Session to the next, add more Rows or Columns to the Response Map than needed to accommodate the current Class size suggested by the Roster in the Class definition, so additional students can be included when they show up for a Session. You will be prompted to save the updated Response Map with the new registrations.
