Large Current Transformer
Description: A
heavy current transformer is connected to a power supply. Its secondary coil,
which is designed to carry a large current and low voltage, is connected to a
circuit that is closed by nails. The nails melt. This experiment is similar in
setup to experiment Eh-05 (Fuses),
but is used instead for demonstrating transformers.
Setup:
Large transformer (front) is connected to a power supply. Its secondary coil
is connected to nails that are mounted in a holding apparatus (back).
