Main guideline:
- keep as many as possible of the students’ attention focussed on the subject, for as much of the recitation session as possible.
To obey this guideline, one must obviously be willing to adjust the format of the recitation, according to
- the nature of the material to be presented
- the ability of, and the dispersion of abilities among, your students
