T0 Support Structures Installed in the IR

The T0 support structures were transported from Rochester to Brookhaven on Monday April 23, 2001, by Erik Johnson. The support structure for the T0 detectors were installed in the IR on Tuesday April 24 by Erik Johnson, Wojtek Skulski, and Ray Teng. On this page a few pictures, taken on April 27, 2001, are shown.

The T0 support structure is made of Ultem, a low-Z material, in order to reduce the number of secondaries produced by these structures. The close-ups below show the mounting structure in more detail.

Close-up of the T0 support structure, mounted in front of the beam-negative Cherenkov counters. The blue beam pipe protection inside the Cherenkov array is installed to prevent contact between the Be beam pipe and T0 signal cables during the installation of the T0 counters.
