Answer questions from the floor
Suggested uses in recitations:
- When you have sensed that the majority of the students have similar or related questions, and that all could benefit from the same example.
Strengths:
- Often effective in physics classes.
- One can easily switch to this format from another format if it appears that enough of the class shares a question.
Shortcomings:
- When used as the main format, some students will always be bored.
- Students’ role is still passive.
