  • When you have sensed that the vast majority of the students don’t understand a major topic, even after they have heard the professor’s lecture and read the textbook.
  • Review sessions before examinations.

• Strengths:

  • Efficient method for presentation of a large body of material.

• Shortcomings:

  • If you have sensed incorrectly, you risk boring the vast majority of the students.
  • Students’ role is passive.
