Pressure Independent of Direction
Description: A
thistle tube with a rubber diaphragm is connected to a manometer by a rubber tube
and to a handle. The apparatus is lowered into a beaker of water and moved to
show that the pressure of the fluid is dependent on the depth and independent
of the orientation of the diaphragm. Movie clips of this experiment are available:
