Rolling Spool

Description: A spool with large end plates is rolled down an inclined plane on a small axle.  When the end plates come in contact with the horizontal tabletop or floor, the spool takes off with a much higher linear velocity.

Spool rolling to bottom of inclined plane.

 

Spool rolling away at higher linear velocity.

 

Materials: Large spool, inclined plane
