Lines of Force (Strings)
Description:
In this experiment, strings are taped to the top sphere of a Van De Graff generator.
When the electrostatic generator is charged, the strings rise and show the lines
of force created by the generator.

When the generator is charged,
the strings also become charged. The sign of the charge of the strings is
the same charge on the sphere of the generator; the strings will be repelled from
the sphere.
