Lines of Force (Hair)
Description:
In this experiment, a styrofoam head with false hair is placed on top of a Van
De Graff generator. When the electrostatic generator is turned on and begins
to charge, the hair begins to rise. The hair continues to rise as it gains
more charge.

is off.
When
the generator is charged and it has charged the hair.
SAFETY
INSTRUCTIONS
MAKE
SURE THAT THE MACHINE IS PROPERLY GROUNDED BEFORE TURNING IT ON AND AFTER FINISHING
WITH IT.
Materials: Van
De Graff generator and power source, head with hair or person with hair
