¥The processing of
photographs to determine the lifetime of the muon was rather cumbersome.
¥The development of
TACs or TDCs made it possible to collect data over extended periods of time,
but sacrificed the detailed information about the pulse shapes contained in the
photographs.
¥Despite these draw
backs, the TAC/TDC-based measurement technique currently dominates the approach
used in the advanced laboratory.
