The general theory of relativity.
¥In 1915 Einstein completed his general theory of
relativity which changed our views of space forever. The theory predicted that space is curved as a result of the
gravitational force, and this curvature effects anything that moves though this
space (event objects with no mass).
¥Einstein's predictions were confirmed in 1919
with observations made during a solar eclipse.

British expeditions have actually proved the light deflection near the sun.
