PHOBOS TOF @AGS TEST BEAM '97

Phobos TOF prototypes were set up in AGS test beam to measure their response for particle types in the range of momenta expected at RHIC. The setup consisted of two TOF subarrays (each containing four scintillator segments) crossed at right angles and a start detector. Time and energy were recorded for each channel.

The start detector positioned 1.7 m upstream from the TOF slats defined the beam spot. This distance of 1.7 m corresponds to the shortest path length proposed for the Phobos TOF at RHIC.
