Baryon production at RHIC

• Different models make very different predictions for baryon production at RHIC:

  • Fritiof:
    • Large baryon free central region
    • Rapidity distributions peak close to ± 4.
  • Venus:
    • No baryon free central region
    • Rapidity distributions peak at ±2.8
  • RQMD:
    • No baryon free central region
    • Rapidity distribution peaks close to 0
