Terminology: Pseudorapidity
A measurement of rapidity requires a simultaneous measurement of Ptotal and P||, and particle identification.
In relativistic limit: p0 ? Ptotal ?
Note that the pseudorapidity depends only on the angle, and is this easy to measure.
