Experiment Sa-09

Standing Waves

Description: A long string is fixed at one end, and on the other end, a motor is attached.  The motor makes the string move so that it creates a wave, and the rotations per minute(RPM) of the motor can change so that the wavelength changes.  The waves created are standing waves.

In the foreground is the motor, and the string visibly extends to the other side of the room, where it is fixed.

Here the wave is visible.
