This demonstration can be expanded to illustrate other concepts related to the spring mass system. One can measure the force constant (k) of a spring and then measure the frequency of the oscillator. One can try different length springs and springs with different force constants. Different masses and configurations of springs (such as springs in series or springs in parallel) may also be shown.
