Shifting Center of Gravity
Description:
A set of blocks is stacked with their line of centers at some oblique angle.
As soon as the center of gravity of the stack is to the right of the star in
the photo below, the stack tips about an axis of the center of that point in
the bottom block.
At
this point, the blocks are at rest.
The
blocks are now starting to fall because the center of mass is no longer located
over the footprint of the bottom block.
