Experiment Ma-02
Mass
Description:
Sets of calibrated weights in metric and English units are placed on the lecture
table. Since weights made of the same material have the same density, their volumes
are proportional to their masses. Demonstrations using brass weights show the
relative masses of the pound and the kilogram. To develop an even better understanding
of the relationship between English and metric units, everyday objects may be
weighed. Orders of magnitude in the metric system may also be illustrated through
weighing objects.
