Diffusion in Liquids

Description: A large beaker of water is placed on the lab bench. A few drops of dye (food coloring works) are added to the water. The dye will diffuse throughout the water in an irreversible process.

For a more impressive demonstration, use dark dye and place a white screen behind the beaker.

Materials: beaker of water, dye, dropper, white screen (optional)
