Bimetal Strip
Description:
Dissimilar metals are bonded or soldered together and attached to a handle. When
the metals are heated, the metals expand differently and make the strip bend.

SAFETY
INSTRUCTIONS
This experiment involves fire. Know
where the classroom fire extinguishers are located before performing the experiment
and be cautious with flame. Use the handle when heating the bimetal strip and
do not touch the metal until it has cooled sufficiently. Extinguish matches
in water.
