Velocity of Efflux
Description: A
tall flask has horizontal tubes which serve as openings along the side. The
velocity of effux is greatest for the opening furthest down the flask. One can
show that the greatest horizontal range of the stream is realized by the tube
located at a height halfway between the top of the liquid and the surface
on which the liquids lands.
The
middle hole of the three openings has the greatest horizontal range.
