Repulsion and Attraction


Description: Two ping-pong balls, coated with silver conducting paint, are suspended by nylon strings to independent supports. The balls may be charged with like charges (with either an ebonite or glass rod) to show repulsion. If they are uncharged and then separated while in the electric field of a charged ebonite or glass rod, they will attract each other.

Materials: 2 Ping-Pong balls, conducting paint, nylon strings, two supports, charged rod (ebonite + cat's fur or glass + silk)
