In this experiment we are studying collisions between 2 carts which use soda cans as bumpers. The collisions are video taped for off-line analysis. Using the video clips, we are able to determine the velocity of the carts before and after the collisions, and thus the change in kinetic energy as a result of the collision. The change in kinetic energy is related to the deformation of the soda cans. The goal of this experiment is to investigate this correlation.
