(Physics 105)

This course was developed as part of a grant from the National Science Foundation, entitled "Liberal Education in a Technological Age; The Education of a Scientifically-Literate Society".

The course is based on the Physics by Inquiry concept developed by Lillian C. McDermott and the Physics Education Group of the University of Washington. Physics by Inquiry emphasizes the process of science. Starting from their own observations, students develop basic physical concepts, use and interpret various forms of scientific representations, and construct explanatory models that have predictive capability.
