Due to the freezing drizzle, we will not be able to carry out our collision experiment today. This experiment has been rescheduled for next week on Monday.

Today, B&L 407 will be open at the regular time to make up any experiments that have not been completed yet.

Next week's lab report, to be handed in on Monday April 14, should discuss the conclusions of the experiment we carried out on Monday April 7, dealing with conservation of linear momentum in "explosions". I expect to see the following information in this report:

• A discussion of the measurement errors in these measurements.
• A discussion of the conservation of linear momentum (is it conserved or not). Make sure you show results for different combinations of masses.
• A discussion of the energy released in these "explosions". Does the energy released depend on the masses of the carts, or does it only depend on the compression of the spring?
• A discussion of the relation between the energy released in the "explosion" and the compression of the spring (do we observe a linear relation, a quadratic relation, etc.).

Any missing lab reports need to be completed and handed in on Monday April 14.
