COURSE INFORMATION

Class: Mondays and Wednesdays: 12.00 pm - 1.50 pm, B&L 407. Attendance is required.
Homework: Written reports on the class projects carried out during the week are due at noon the following Monday.
Quizzes: A few times a month you will be asked to complete a quiz which will allow us to determine your understanding of the material discussed in class.
Presentations: You will be asked once or twice during the semester to present the results of some your experiment to the Physics 105 students and staff. You will be given at least one week notice before your presentation.
Office Hours: Starting January 24, on Fridays between 12.00 pm and 1.50 pm in B&L 407. The computers will be available during during this time period. Other times are possibly by appointment (B&L 203A, ext. 5 - 4937).

Final Grade: Weighted average of the grades received for the weekly reports, oral presentations, the in-class quizzes and the final project.
Midterm Exams: None
Final Exam: No exam, but final paper is required. The focus of the final paper is the course and the material discussed in the course. You are expected to describe what you have learned about the scientific method (using the experiments conducted as examples to illustrate key points of the scientific method). In addition, you are expected to provide a critique of the course, indicating what you liked and what you did not like, and provide suggestions on changes that would improve the course.
