Chapter 3 Laplace’s Equation in Three Dimensions
First uniqueness theorem:
If the electrostatic potential is specified at every point on the surface of a volume, in which the charge density is equal to zero, then the solution of Laplace’s equation at every point within this volume is uniquely defined.
This theorem can only be applied in regions where there is no charge.
