Chapter 3Laplace’s Equation in One Dimension
Properties of the one-dimensional Laplace equation:
- V(x) is the average of V(x + R) and V(x - R) for any R as long as x + R and x - R are located in the region between the boundary points.
-
- The solution of Laplace's equation can not have local maxima or minima. Extreme values must occur at the end points (the boundaries).
