Chapter 2. Electrostatics Capacitors
Calculating the capacitance of a system of conductors:
- Put a charge +Q on one conductor. Put a charge -Q on the other conductor.
- Calculate the electric field in the region between the conductors.
- Use the electric field to calculate the potential difference between the two conductors.
- The ratio between the charge on the conductors and the potential difference is called the capacitance of the system.
