• The conclusions obtained for the spherical conducting shell, are valid for any arbitrarily shaped conductor:

• • If there is a charge q inside the cavity, there will be an induced charge equal to -q on the walls of the cavity.
  • If there is no charge inside the cavity, the electric field inside the cavity will be equal to zero.
